127 days until I’m due.. 54.6% of the way through!
The Baby:
*His skin appears wrinkled, but in the coming weeks he’ll grow to fill it out
*Irises still lack color and we won’t know his permanent eye color until he’s 9 months old! (I didn’t know it took that long!) They’ll look blue at birth.
*Fingernails almost full grown
*Has distinct lips and his first canines and molars are developing below the gum line
*Blood travels through the umbilical cord at 4 miles per hour – cool!
*11 inches long, the size of a spaghetti squash, and nearly 1 pound
*He looks like a miniature newborn! 
The Mom:
*Wow, I think I look a lot bigger just compared to last week… like, bigger all over. Uterus is 2 cm above the belly button. A guy who came into the office yesterday said he noticed my preggo belly!
*Edema – swelling, especially of the ankles and feet. Cankles!! It’s caused by pressure of the growing uterus on veins trying to return blood to the heart from the legs. But nope, I don’t have any of that. I’m up often enough at work to keep me moving and I drink lots..
*Speaking of drinking lots… I work 6 hour shifts and go to the bathroom about 4 – 5 times. Ridiculous.
*No stretch marks or skin discolorations.
*Been really tired lately, but probably just from getting back into the swing of things at the new job. Plus meeting up with all my friends again since moving back to Illinois.
*New milestone: the baby kicks hard enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. It is a very cool (and weird) feeling that I love, but… come on, at 3 am or 5 am, it’s not the greatest thing ever.. I like sleep. But I can’t wait for Steve to get home so he can start feeling the kicks!!
Speaking of.. The Dad:
*He had a phone interview for a position in Illinois and it went really well! He’s moving on to the next step of the
process… wish him luck!!!
*His job in Iowa will be over at the end of next week… 10 more days until he’s home! Ahhh!!

It’s crazy how much your belly pushes out around this time. I’m 24 weeks and the last few weeks have seen out of control belly growth. I didn’t know the thing about not having their permanent eye color either.

Wow, I have yet to be woken in the night by baby’s kicking. Maybe he’s just sleeping through the night these days. I love how it feels when he moves around too!
