Bake Me A Wish (gourmet gift cakes~overnight~nationwide) provided me with Steve’s birthday cake! It arrived the day before his birthday, all sealed up with ice packs (that were still mostly frozen!) and I put it right in the fridge! The next day I pulled it out and let it thaw for a little bit before presenting it to my husband… his eyes got HUGE. “What is THAT?!”
I sang happy birthday and we dug in. He took the first bite and I asked him how it was… when I didn’t hear an answer, I turned to look at him and he was absolutely savoring his bite with a huge smile on his face – I think he liked it
Later that night we finished it off (yep, the whole cake).
The next day Steve said, “Ok, I’m ready for another one of those cakes!” Haha. So what was SO AMAZING? We got the Peanut Butter Mousse cake: “a celebration of chocolate and peanut butter! A layer of chocolate cake is heaped with peanut butter mousse swirled with delicious brownie and milk chocolate chunks, then topped with a jumble of milk and dark chocolate chunks and crunchy peanuts, covered with a luscious dark chocolate glaze, drizzled with more milk chocolate and garnished with a border of creamy fudge.”
It arrived exactly as pictured and it was delicious. I wish I had taken a picture of it for you, but we were too excited about eating it and I forgot, haha. The center of it even had a little chocolate plaque that said “happy birthday.” They have SO MANY incredible looking cakes, it was hard to pick. But hubby loves peanut butter so that’s why I choose this one. They also have smaller (singular sensations) cakes and coffee cakes – yummmm. Look at some others:
And what’s awesome about Bake Me A Wish – they donate 5% of all profits to charitable causes! So that should make you feel better about eating the calories – giving to charity makes it all okay!
You can buy the cake we received for $39.95 or you can WIN one here!
