It’s almost time for Ryan to start solids… ahhh!!! We’re really interested in doing baby-led weaning which means skipping the rice cereals and purees all together and letting Ryan pick up, chew and eat his own REAL food. So why not use a knife? Some foods would be really hard to cut up with a knife. For example – grapes, pasta or green beans! Or tougher foods and having only a plastic knife handy. Well what about using regular scissors? They can leave a metallic taste on the food and who knows if they contain lead or BPA! Okay, what about normal kitchen shears? They’re usually much larger and not as easy to use–plus, they’d be harder to travel with because of their size. I think this is an ingenious invention and I can’t wait until Ryan is eating solids and we get to use these handy little things. I also think it’s wonderful that they thought to put TWO pairs in a package. Things like to go missing with a lil one around (or is it the mommy brain? …..) 🙂
