I know you’ve all heard of Wisk laundry detergent… come on, it was the FIRST liquid laundry detergent to market back in 1956! So for most of you, it has been around since you were born! Maybe your parents used it? Maybe you saw their classic “ring around the collar” campaign? And if not, let’s flashback and check it out:
Clothing and stains have come a long way since 1956… and with it, the stain fighting formula has had to change as well. Wisk is reinventing the way you’ll look at stains with a new formula and a red-hot bottle. This new formula targets a whole range of stains on the molecular level with Stain Spectrum Technology… it’ll get those carbs (like chocolate milk), proteins (such as grass stains), and oils (like peanut butter)! I have yet to try it out, but am getting some soon so I can tell all of you how it works. With a rambunctious little boy in this house, I’m sure we’ll have a stain (or45) to clean up!!
So let’s check out a teaser for their NEW ad, made for the 21st century, haha:
Wisk is available (starting in August) at major retailers like Walmart, Target and Kroger with a suggested price of $5.99 for a 50 fl oz bottle that cleans 32 loads! Visit wisk.com for more info and to download a coupon. And check them out on facebook!

Hey– we’ve all got to pay the bills, so this isn’t hate-mail or anything. But don’t try to wash your cloth diapers in that awful chemical filled detergent! You will certainly ruin them.
We use Charlie’s soap. All natural, no scents or fillers. Keeps our whole family’s clothes, and the diapers, soft, fluffy, and smelling just as they should– naturally (not like “lemon” or “fresh”).

Omgosh, I know! We have separate detergent for our stuff and for Ryan’s stuff… I heard that using the wrong detergent on cloth diapers will make them leak. Thanks for looking out for us

This is not eco friendly at all and seems to go against a bunch of other stuff you post about! When you start using an appropriate cleaner for cloth diapers, like Charlie’s Soap, you can use it on ALL of your laundry, easy peasy! Also, when you use chemical filled cleaners and fabric softeners, they create a build up in your washer and in turn on your other laundry. Soaps like Charlie’s recommend a sort of stripping of your washing machine of all these items prior to using, or else it will just redeposit on other laundry items like your diapers.

Is Charlie’s expensive? We’ve been using eco-friendly stuff on all of Ryan’s stuff but because it costs so much more, we use regular stuff on our own clothes, towels, etc. Guess I didn’t think about it building up in our washer – will that alone make cloth diapers leak???
And I know I usually post about eco-friendly products and this goes against that. But I also know a lot of my readers aren’t strictly eco-friendly, so this may be of use to them (and it’s paying the bills, helping me pay hosting to keep this site up, etc.… sometimes i just gotta do it)

oh, also, this is why i made a whole new site for my reviews/giveaways, so i wouldn’t be as restricted to what i accept (bc i would like to keep my personal blog eco-friendly, attachment parenting, etc.) but this post agreement was made before that so i had to put it here

I can get about 80 loads of Charlie’s powder for $10 on Amazon! I was very skeptical at first having always had a strict regiment of Tide, Clorox / 2, and Downey. It’s weird, but everything just smells clean now, nothing hiding it and nothing chemical. I was using some white vinegar as a fabric softener for awhile, but even stopped that. In terms of static in the dryer, i was a big Bounce girl, but i realized if i just air dry most of my synthetics (which dry super fast anyway), cottons in the dryer don’t have any static!
I understand if you have to do reviews like this to stay afloat, but it would be great if you were selective so it matched you! Good luck
