On Sunday (Jan. 2nd), we had over some friends and family for Ryan’s big birthday party… monster-themed for a monster lil boy! 
It was a lot of fun.… but a ton of work. I’m relieved it’s over, but it’s bittersweet… can’t believe my baby is ONE! I have *so many* pictures from the party, this post is just going to focus on the decorations. I’ll follow up with another that has pictures of Ryan and his cake and presents and all the guests
Monster Cupcakes! In red, blue, yellow and green and decorated with monster faces and toppers. I had them made at a local bakery.
Ryan’s smasher cake! It was a 6″ cake just for Ryan – also from the local bakery.
My little monster!
For food we had Monster Toes (pigs in a blanket), Monster Fingers (chicken fingers), Monster Eyes (meatballs), Monster Munch (trail mix), popcorn with monster hands in the bowl, carrots and dip with a carrot monster hand in the dip, chips and dip, punch (with a hand-shaped ice mold) and of course, the cupcakes!
Ryan’s own little corner was decorated and waiting for him for cake smashing time! A birthday crown (he refused to wear) and a safety sheet (plastic tablecloth) to protect our carpet, haha.
Birthday balloons and monster footprints (cut from green poster board) greeted guests by the front door.
Punch (hawaiian punch, 7-up and pineapple juice with orange sherbet) complete with a hand-shaped ice mold! Yellow and green cups were decorated with sticky wiggly eyes of different sizes and straws had cute monster tags on them.
I hung a banner of Ryan’s monthly chair pictures!
And finally… a cute Monster birthday banner that was hung above his highchair.
Holy overboard Em! I’m majorly impressed with his party! Pretty sure we had a sweet Ernie (from Bert & Ernie) cake for my 1st birthday and a banner saying “happy birthday”.…and that’s it. Well, besides the presence of family and stuff. Glad you took a bazillion photos so he can appreciate all your hard work when you’re older

Haha, I know, totally overboard, but it was a lot of fun. (but I’m glad it’s over!
) Oh, and now our house is overrun with toys. Toys, toys and more toys! lol

you did an amazing job decorating for ryan’s party!! i’m busy brainstorming for my daughter’s very hungry caterpillar themed 1st birthday party (it’s still 2.5 months away… i’m excited!), and it’s been so fun to check out and be inspired by other babies’ party ideas and themes. i love the cupcake tags, and the food labels are so cute. thanks for sharing the pictures!

Ohh fun!!! I definitely did not do it all myself, haha. Most of the decorations are from an Etsy shop… you basically purchase a pdf file that gets emailed to you and you can print out everything you want and cut it out.
I actually reviewed most everything on my other blog — and if you go to this post (http://babydickeysgiveaways.com/index.php/2011/01/monster-bash-closes-tomorrow/) you can see an entire list of everything with a link to where I got it. Chachke Designs is the etsy shop I’m talking about.
