**If you’re following, you know this post is over a week late. I actually wrote it on time, but never posted it because we moved to our new house and haven’t had internet and have been so busy. AH!! < – Stressed. So… here’s week 24 from 2 Fridays ago and week 25 from this past Friday will be coming shortly
**
Baby girl weighs around 1.5 pounds and is now about a foot long! (anyone else just think, “five dollar foot long?”). She’s still pretty skinny, but will start thickening up now and her skin is pretty translucent, but that is starting to change as well.
Bronchi (airways) of the lungs are growing and cells to produce surfactant for the alveoli are developing – so she can breathe outside of the womb!
OH, most important part, she’s now considered viable! At this point, doctor’s would try everything to save her life if she were born early and she has better chances of surviving.
so I also don’t have a belly shot from week 24 because we were so busy (sad!), but this was taken at the same time… tutorial on how to make this awesome Halloween costume soon
Compare to my pregnancy week 24 pic from last time!
I was sitting on the couch a couple days ago and instinctively grabbed the bottom of my belly in preparation for a coming sneeze. The one spot I missed and wasn’t supporting? AHHH, ROUND LIGAMENT PAIN, I HATE YOU! It was the worst one yet and I whined in agony for a good minute. Steve walked in from the other room and said, “ummmm, yea, when do I have to start worrying about that?”
It’s the perfect time to learn about signs of pre-term labor and be on the watch!
I’m still getting over this cold, but generally feel much better. The babe has a more defined sleep/wake pattern now and it seems like she’s only awake and moving at night… allllllllll night long. I hope that changes before she’s on this side of the belly, haha. We do not need to be awake all night!
WE MOVE ON MONDAY! [[EDIT: yep, we moved Oct 31 — I wrote this post before that!]] Ahhhh. I’m really excited to be buying a house and to decorate, but I hate packing and moving, especially when 6 months pregnant.
I guess I should mention that sometime between now and about 28 weeks, woman are typically given a glucose screening test to check for gestational diabetes. I opted out and am not having the test.
Weight: no idea.
Coming up: Halloween and moving to our new house! (Oct 31)
