Deaton was accused of creating false documents and making up false information to secure loans for various people, with the assistance of eight co-conspirators — James Barnes, Larry Suddeth, Michelle C. Deaton, J.

Christopher Janes, Jessie Dawn Rich, Joseph C. Janes, Robert J. Stamps and Tracy R. Cline, all of whom also pleaded guilty to various charges in the case.
