My kids aren’t old enough for school, yet, but I’m always in the “back to school” mode every August… because shortly after I graduated, I became a teacher! I’m taking time off right now while my little ones are still little, but the coming fall season will always mean school to me. In in a few short (TOO SHORT!) years, it will be my own kids in school. You see a lot of back to school gifts for TEACHERS, but I was thinking of all the fun traditions I’ll start with my kids when it’s time for THEM to start a new school year… something to look forward to when they may be dreading the end of summer and the start of a new classroom! Do you do fun things around the start of the school year? (as always with images from Pinterest, click through for the blog post with tutorials and tips):
The back to school party photo is cute, but not something I don’t think I would do. Just a special dinner or breakfast with my own two kids–and the other cute and fun things in this post. What back to school traditions do you have?
These ideas are all so cute! This is my girls’ first year of school and I would love to do something special for them.

What adorable ideas! I don’t have children so I can only think back to my own childhood and I don’t think my mom ever did anything as cool as this when I went back to school (curse you Pinterest for not yet existing, or really the internet for that matter…wow, I’m old…)I love family traditions, so this is something I will definitely think of if I do ever have kids.

I love back to school time. Fall has always been my favorite time of the year, it’s just so cozy! Those little chalkboard cupcakes were just adorable!!!

My kids are kinda of past the back-to-school traditions except shopping like crazy. We need to iron their uniform pants but I don’t get to buy clever little lunch boxes any more. 🙁
Love these ideas though!

What a great idea! I always love finding fun and non-mainstream ways to celebrate the milestones. Its going to be the little things the kids remember; now what they go for Christmas rather who was there for the school play.

I was just bemoaning to my mom that my kid’s school has taken all the fun out of back to school shopping by not letting kids use any of their own stuff! Those apple waffles might actually convince him to eat breakfast, though 🙂

What fun ideas! My son has one more year of preschool but we will be in school mode soon. I used to love doing all the back to school shopping with my Mom, getting all the fun new stuff and then getting to use it. Some of the ideas could be great traditions to start. Thanks for sharing them!
