When Ryan was little we never had an activity/learning table, but my mom had one at her house. Ryan LOVED it. He played with it all the time so I knew I wanted to get something similar for Rebecca for our own house.

The Animal Adventure Learning Table from LeapFrog is awesome for many reasons, but my favorite feature: the legs come off and it can just sit on the floor. PERFECT for Rebecca. She can sit up and she is now slowly crawling… she loves buttons and lights and music… but a typical play table would be pointless because she wouldn’t be able to reach it. With this “table” on the floor, she can play all she wants. Sometimes she even tries to crawl on top of it lol.

It’s meant for ages 6 months to 36 months and that’s about right – Rebecca is 7 months and loves it (on the floor) and my son (33 months) loves it when it’s set up as a table. There are also two different settings — one that’s more for music and sounds (Rebecca!) and one that’s more educational with colors and numbers (Ryan!).

Sometimes I leave two legs on and prop it up sideways so it faces Rebecca – she likes that, too, but just a warning that it’s not totally sturdy when used this way. I’m always sitting next to her.

There are 7 different play stations with over 100 songs and learning responses:
~Giraffe book: flip pages for ABCs and 123
~Hippo: open and close peek-a-boo with a mirror
~Tiger: a sliding toy to learn about opposites/hear music
~Monkey: guitar with spinning toy for motor skills
~Piano: 3 keys for colors, numbers, and sounds
~Fish: spinner that rattles
~Drum: musical light show and learning about colors, shapes, numbers, and patterns
