HGG: BOB Revolution SE stroller & B-SAFE infant car seat

When I traveled to Kentucky in October for the ABC Kids Expo with Rebecca, I struggled with what stroller to bring and how to deal with a car seat. Traveling alone with a baby is hard in the first place… add luggage, a diaper bag, a stroller, a car seat… and it nears impossible. I didn’t have a travel system with a car seat that snaps into a stroller so I considered my options…

Wear Rebecca and bring a car seat that would just sit in the stroller as I pushed it thought the airport? But I wouldn’t ever be able to put Rebecca in the car seat and push the stroller because they didn’t snap together… Hire a car service that you can rent a car seat from? Expensive and… a rented car seat? ehhhh… I seriously kept going back and forth on what to do…

And then came BOB. Problem solved and I couldn’t have been more excited! They have a NEW infant car seat adapter that allows you to use the BOB B-SAFE infant car seat by Britax with the BOB strollers. PERFECT! I got the Revolution SE stroller in Plum and the B-SAFE infant car seat in Black.

I love them both! The infant car seat is now the one we use 95% of the time and the stroller has been used plenty–it was amazing to have at the ABC Expo and Rebecca was wonderful the whole time. Let’s check out the Revolution SE stroller first:

BOB Revolution SE strollerStarting at the top left and working our way right… 1. Cargo Basket is a good size for a jogging stroller (and if you need more space, there are pockets) 2. Easy two-step folding and a handle for easy transport 3. Easy up and down foot brake 4. Extra large canopy that adjusts to different positions 5. Super smooth ride with adjustable suspension system 6. Large window to see your child through the canopy 7. Big pocket on the back of the seat 8. High-impact composite wheels with pneumatic tires for tough terrain and a locking front wheel 9. Padded and reclining seat (with 5 point harness)

The 5 point harness adjusts at the waist with super easy red rings to pull the threads. There are also side pockets by Rebecca’s hand and you can see how padded the seat looks.

The stroller has worked very well for both my 9-month-old baby girl (she was 7 months at ABC) and my (almost) 3 year old son. Especially while using it at the ABC Expo when I needed to tote Rebecca around for HOURS… she enjoyed sitting in the stroller, but her favorite was sitting in the car seat while it was snapped in to the stroller so she could face me. It looked super comfortable, too.

I love that the canopies for the stroller and the car seat can meet in the middle for complete coverage–this was SO useful at the Expo when Rebecca wanted to sleep! Doesn’t she just look comfy and cozy in there? There is a red safety strap that goes around the car seat from the stroller–you can see it hanging in these photos; I hadn’t snapped it together yet.

The accessory adapter snaps right into the stroller in the same spot you’d put a snack tray. It folds with the stroller so no need to remove it first and it fits with a number of car seats including the B-Safe & Chaperone from Britax, SnugRides from Graco, Primo Viaggio from Peg Perego, and KeyFit from Chicco.

Now let’s check out just the B-SAFE infant car seat:

From the top left and working right: 1. Adjustable base with 5 positions, latch system and push button for easy release 2. Level indicator on the base for proper installation 3. Two buckle positions and a forward design to keep it out of the way when buckling in your child 4. Large canopy with multiple positions 5. Side Impact Protection, energy absorbing foam liner, and removable pillow, shoulder pads, and belly pad for comfort 6. Ergonomic carry handle that contours to your forearm 7. Holds up to 30 lb or 32 inches 8. Awesome reminder to put the chest clip at armpit level (and 4 harness heights) 9. Handle goes back to keep seat steady

I love how lightweight this car seat is. That and the ergonomic handle with the release buttons in front are the main reasons we made this our go-to infant car seat for Rebecca. It’s just easier to use and carry. I also LOVE the level indicator on the base.

Rebecca likes it, too 🙂 And no, I did not drive anywhere without Ryan in his car seat lol – he was reading his book to Rebecca while I took photos.
