I think it’s important to stop and say “thank you,” for a lot of aspects of your life… not just when someone does something nice for you or gives you something, but when “life is good” and you pay it forward. How do you say thank you?
Right now I’d like to say THANK YOU to my husband for being amazing (you guys, he cleans and cooks and runs errands, he changes diapers and plays with the kids, he visits his grandma every single week). Thank you to my parents and my in-laws for helping out with our kids, it’s invaluable and Ryan and Rebecca love you SO much. And thank you to my friends who are about to support me as I turn 28 in 2 days 😛
My favorite way to show thanks is by taking action and doing something nice… donating my time to a great cause, helping out a friend when they need me, or making something. Whether it’s a home cooked meal or a cute craft or simply your presence, I think those gifts are the most personal and meaningful. Currently I volunteer for ICAN and the Alzheimer’s Association–I used to be involved in SO much more before having kids, I’d really like to get back to that (and involve my kids now, too!).
Did you know that “Mahalo” means “thank you” in Hawaiian? King’s Hawaiian has created Project Mahalo to help us say thanks. “Giving generously to others without expecting anything in return is at the heart and soul of Hawaiian culture, and a core value of KING’S HAWAIIAN.” Giving is a wonderful way to show thanks! When I give I always feel happier, too. Win – win!
King’s Hawaiian will be donating $10,000 to EACH of the following charities: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Meals on Wheels Associated of America, Family Caregiver Alliance, and One Warm Coat. So how do YOU help? VOTE! Show your Aloha spirit of giving and choose the organization that best demonstrates sharing, the Hawaiian way. The winner will receive a $25,000 donation!
I voted for Big Brothers Big Sisters because I think the kids need it. My mom was a Big Sister when she was younger and is still in touch with her “little sister.” Who will you vote for?
Mahalo is the Hawaiian word for thank you. You can say thank you to these wonderful charities- Big Brothers Big Sisters, Meals On Wheels Association of America, Family Caregiver Alliance, and One Warm Coat by voting for them on www.kingshawaiian.com/project-mahalo.

COMMENT below with who you’re voting for or how you show thanks and you’ll be entered to win $100 for yourself AND for one of the 4 charities!
