With two little ones, an easy-to-use and handy stroller is a must. Sometimes I wear one child, sometimes Ryan (almost 4yo) walks, but almost always one of them needs to be pushed in a stroller. I’m super excited to share these photos and info with you about our newest stroller–because of it, I passed along 2 of my other strollers to friends because this one replaces the functions of all of those. We were kindly sent this stroller to review and I am in love. Introducing the….
Okay, first things first–isn’t the color amazing?! It comes in 5 awesome colors and I just fell in love with the bright and beautiful Aquamarine. Bumbleride was started in 2004 by two parents inspired by the birth of their first child. They now have three kids and a team “committed to making baby mobility fun, simple and intuitive.”
The Indie is an all-terrain jogging stroller. But let’s not kid ourselves………. I don’t do a whole lot of jogging. This is an all-around amazing stroller, for use around our neighborhood, at the park, running errands, etc. But, yes, the front wheel does lock in place for those occasional jogs.
Awesome: all Bumbleride strollers use a soft and durable bamboo blended fabric on the inside of the seats. It helps to regulate temperature, naturally absorbs moisture, and helps prohibit growth of bacteria. The exterior fabric is 50% recycled PET–known for durability. Bumbleride set a goal this year to make their products cleaner for baby and better for the environment.
- wonderfully sized cargo basket
- large, extending canopy with SPF 45 and window to see your baby
- foot brake to lock the back wheels (I point this out because I love that it’s one long piece in the middle instead of a lever on each rear wheel.)
- parent cup holder and zippered pocket on the back of the canopy
- adjustable (and padded) handle to fit the height of the parent
- 5-point breakaway harness (meaning waist straps separate from shoulder straps for a no-mess/no-tangle attachment)
- compact shape and SUPER smooth movements
- folds easily and compact, weighs 20 lb (and has an easy carry handle)
- universal car seat adapter (list of compatible car seats here)
- reclining backrest (completely adjustable)
- adjustable footrest
- comes with: bumper bar, cup holder, car seat adapter, wrist strap, harness and shoulder pads
There are a lot of great features of the Bumbleride Indie that all add up to one thing: a durable, well-made stroller that is extremely easy to use and maneuver. It’s the reason this ONE stroller replaced two of my other ones… it turns on a dime, it’s so easy to move my 3.5yo pushes his little sister in it all the time, it’s compact and weighs only 20lb so I can easily get it in and out of my trunk, and it’s comfortable for both kids.
Yes, Rebecca is crying in this photo above! I wanted to show the way you can put a younger baby in the Bumbleride Indie for comfort. First, the seat back is reclined almost all of the way–great rest position for any age–and second, the footrest is adjusted to the upright position. It creates kind of a little basket that is adorable! And you know how you put a blanket on your little one and it just gets kicked off over and over (and over and over)? This helps! Rebecca just wasn’t feeling sleepy 😉
And my son fits wonderfully, too! He turns 4 in 3 months. He has his feet up on the footrest, which is why it looks like his knees are hitting the bumper bar… but no worries, he fits with plenty of room and actually likes resting his legs there. You can see in Rebecca’s photos, too, that she loves to kick her feet up and use the bumper bar for a footrest, haha.
I wanted to SHOW how easily this thing moves so I took a short video of Ryan pushing Rebecca. He is going uphill on our sidewalk, too! The adjustable handlebar goes so low that it’s easy for Ryan to reach.
So many little things just make this stroller awesome, I definitely recommend it. The Bumbleride Indie ALSO comes in an Indie Twin version for pushing two and lots of fun accessories like a carrycot, child snack pack, footmuff, travel bag, covers, and–BRAND NEW!–a mini-board! The mini-board is a skateboard style stand to attach to the back of the stroller for toddlers to ride! Must have for Ryan! It will retail for $99 and be in stores this November!
