Ryan’s highchair days have been long gone (he’s almost 4) and he loves sitting at the table with us. He likes having “his spot” and his own personalized placemat… and now his own booster seat, thanks to Bumbo that sent one for review. I can’t believe we didn’t have anything before and Ryan would sit on his knees or ask for a pillow.
The Booster Seat from Bumbo is perfect… it’s the same soft material as their Bumbo floor seat (that we also own!), it’s just the right height to have him join us at the table and still fit his legs underneath, and it makes him feel like a big boy!
The Booster Seat buckles to your chair in two different spots for safety–behind the chair and underneath the chair. The straps are adjustable and really long so it really should fit most chairs! We even have a bench seat on the other side of our table and while we can’t buckle underneath it, we can still buckle behind it!
I don’t think Ryan needs the lap buckle as an almost 4-year-old, but he’s Mr. Safety and loves wearing them. Plus, he can buckle himself in so he loves to do that. You push the middle button to unbuckle and he can’t quite do that part, which is a good safety feature!
You can see in the photos below that there is plenty of leg space under the table and our kitchen table has a pretty large lip, too. The Booster Seat is technically “Ryan’s seat,” but we all know how that goes with other siblings… Rebecca wants everything that’s his and sometimes they can handle sharing 😉 So she gets excited when it’s her turn, I adjust the lap belts a little tighter for her, and you can see that even she can reach the table with this booster seat. Rebecca is 20 months old.
Bumbo’s Booster Seat
The seat isn’t just for eating at the kitchen table–it’s wonderful for teaching or doing crafts with the kids, too. Rebecca, the little stinker, loves to climb and if I put her on a chair, she’s trying to get on the top of the table in seconds. I appreciate the booster seat’s lap belt to keep her in place, especially if I’m trying to work with her brother for the moment!
Bumbo’s Booster Seat (suggested for ages 12months+) comes in a variety of colors (blue, red, lime, and chocolate; I let Ryan choose his favorite!) and you can buy online from major retailers, like Target, for $39.99!

I’d love the step stool…seems much higher than the one we have and like it might actually be useful for my not so tall 2 year old who can’t quite reach the sink to spit out his toothpaste…

Another Bumbo product that would be super useful is the toilet trainer! My kids are always nervous sitting on a seat with no support!

The toilet trainer looks extremely nice! I don’t even want to think about that stage yet though. 😉

We still have our Bumbo floor seat. We could totally use the Bumbo toilet trainer as we’re about to start the potty training process.

I’d love to also have the Bumbo Step Stool so it would be easier for my grandson to reach the sink on his own to wash his hands.
