I was sitting on the couch with my morning coffee. Ryan walked by whining a little bit… “hmmm… ahhhh… haaaa… hmmmm” and I handed him a cracker. He took it with a look of awe, whispered “cracker” and walked away with the BIGGEST smile on his face. I guess it’s the little things that make his day too After a few minutes, he came back (still smiling) and gave me the sign for “milk.” My little baby boy is so big!

On Monday, Ryan’s real birthday, we had a small party with a couple family members. Ryan got some presents and of course, CAKE! At first, Steve started feeding him cake with a fork and I was like – what are you doing? Let him dig in!!! This year has passed me by faster than any before. I felt like I was taking one day at a time – breastfeeding, raising a son, learning HOW to raise a son – but before I knew it, the year was over. What happened?! I can only imagine that 2011 will go by just as quickly and it has really made me think about how I spend my time. Or how I don’t spend my time.

I only took 935020394 pictures from this Christmas season, sooo.… look on facebook for more of them, haha. We had 3 different family Christmas parties and the 3 of us spent Christmas Day in our matching pajamas Ryan did really well with all the events and started to get the hang of ripping paper (even if he just ran off with the paper instead of the toy)! December 18th! Why does that date seem so familiar to me? Ahhh, just one short year ago, it was my due date! This time last year I was anxiously awaiting labor and hoping Ryan would arrive before Christmas because I had all his “baby’s 1st Christmas” items ready to go… clothes and pajamas, a bib and hat, a frame, an ornament.… of course my little stinker didn’t like that plan and came 2 days AFTER Christmas instead
