Bag it Forward: rewarding teachers

What an awesome program… Bag it Forward, sponsored by Elmer’s, helps children who get supplies for school this fall when they possibly wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise. This summer, Elmer’s is teaming up with bloggers that are gathering school supplies to donate to children, schools and teachers.

I jumped on this bandwagon to help out and decided to buy some Elmer’s products for a teacher! My mom is an elementary school teacher and I know that every year she has a number of students that don’t have all the supplies and she

FINALLY painting Ryan’s room

Soooo, when Ryan was like 5 months old (?) I ripped down the hideous wallpaper in his room. I had big plans for painting and decorating!

Ugly Wallpaper:

But there was all this glue residue left on the walls and it would NOT come off by any normal methods of cleaning and scraping. I bought that “diff” stuff from the paint aisle… you spray it on, let it sit for 10 minutes, then sponge it off. Sponge?! No. Not happening. Didn’t work. I had to buy a big scraper

How has the internet changed motherhood?

If it weren’t for social media, I can tell you with 100% certainty that we would not be cloth diapering. Would I have made it breastfeeding this long? Would I have found ICAN and started my own chapter? Would I have found support after my cesarean or would I have continued feeling completely alone?

It’s probably a good thing we don’t have a girl, because stores always have WAY more girl clothes and they’re all so so so cute–who can resist ruffles? But you can get lucky and find some great boy clothes too. When I was pregnant, my mother-in-law told me about Florence Eiseman clothes. Apparently she dressed her kids (my hubby!) in them when they were little and it’s the best quality stuff. But it’s pricey.

Wellllll, Florence Eiseman has a factory sale twice a year and we first went when I was pregnant. And we

Ryan Throws and Ryan Blows

Ryan learned two new things in the past week that I wanted to share: how to throw a ball (I mean really throw, not just kinda aimlessly drop) and how to blow his nose (disgusting, usually it’s not into a tissue!)

How to throw:

How to blow (and try to give dirty tissues to people):

Why I’m a lucky mama!

Now through St. Patty’s Day Redbox is giving you a chance to get free movie credits during the redbox Lucky To Have Friends Like You promotion. You get a unique web address and every time someone uses your link to rent a movie, you get a free movie credit!

I was just talking with some friends about feeling “lucky” and how that’s the perfect word to describe it. Even if you’re having a rough day, a case of the Mondays, or your husband loses his job (yea)–you can stop and think
