Having a toddler in the house has inspired me (mostly out of necessity) to get the house organized. My little guy enjoys emptying everything, all the time! Every single time I put away something that he’s dumped out, I notice all of the things that we don’t use anymore or that should be in a different space–but I always push it off til another time, thinking it will take forever. Organizing the entire house with a toddler around is a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be with The Complete Book of

When I was little, we had a family tradition of going to see a movie in the theaters every Christmas Eve. My cousins would be in town visiting and we’d all go together! The movies are a great family getaway, especially in this cold winter weather. Since having two little ones of our own, we haven’t really had a chance to get to the movies often. But they’re growing up (so fast!) and taking them to the movies will start

I think shoes that allow for proper development of growing feet is really important. My mom was the one that always drilled that into my head years ago and now that I have kids of my own, I want to make sure they have proper shoes! Actually, Ryan (our 4yo) has a number of shoes, but ALWAYS insists on wearing Read More…

They learn how to spell their name and letter recognition. My 4-year-old also gets excited to have his name on things… like it makes them extra special because they’re all his!
Ryan goes to preschool three mornings a week and we need all his stuff labeled anyway so why not an embroidered lunch box? It looks a bit

These days, little E is a ball of energy. When she turned 15 months old, I felt like all she wanted to do was climb, run, and use her body in a BIG way. Unfortunately, her 15 month “birthday” came right around December. Talk about cabin fever! I knew we needed to find a way that she could use up some of that energy. That’s why I was SO excited when Emily offered the Read More…

With daylight saving time hitting us hard last week (seriously, ugh.), the entire house has had trouble sleeping and getting back on schedule. I actually think our 2-year-old handled it the best. Our 4-year-old just couldn’t get to bed “earlier” and with the time change, that meant he was staying up late and sleeping in. That first Monday? Ryan slept in until 8:20am and we had
