My husband and I have been eating foods from Nutrisystem for 4 months. We are still going strong and are so very grateful to be a part of this program. Who is in the lead? I am!!! I have lost a total of 18 pounds. I think the exercise classes have helped me. My husband is so busy with work and has next to no free time to even take a walk. He has lost 17 pounds. However, we are both still enjoying our meals most every day. Yes….there are times when we skip a meal here and there, but I don’t think it has made too much difference. I think losing about 1 pound a week is the healthiest way to go. I know once I am off Nutrisystem, I will be able to control my portions and choose healthy foods. I think that is one very important thing one learns when on this program.
We both like the ease of preparing the foods. My husband takes a breakfast (usually cereal) to work with him every day. He actually eats it without milk. I prefer the muffins, cereal and the frozen pancakes and french toast. I love the protein drink and now mainly only choose chocolate! My husband does not drink them every day and he knows he should! He loves the variety and is not a picky eater like I am. So, I tend to order the same foods because I know I will like them.
I have 2 more pounds to reach my goal. My husband’s goal was to lose 30 pounds so he has a bit more to lose. This doesn’t mean I want to stop losing. I was just starting with 20 pounds. I think ideally I would like to lose another 5-8 pounds. Seems as these last pounds are a bit more difficult to lose! June should bring me to my goal! Thank you Nutrisystem!!!!

I have been on the Nutrisystem program now for three months and my husband for two months. Who do you think is in the lead now? I have no idea! I have not weighed myself for 2 weeks and I better do that today! I am hoping that I have dropped at least 2 more pounds. My husband has been ahead of me by about 2 pounds so maybe I just didn’t want to weigh myself until I knew I had dropped a few pounds! I want to beat him! I continue to go to my Zumba class 2-3 times a week but have had a hard time with “cheating” a bit now and then!!! I eat my morning cereal or muffin, drink the yummy protein shake but then sometimes eat a turkey sandwich or my favorite one slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter and a tiny bit of jelly!!! Dinner is most always Nutrisystem, but at times I have been eating a piece of chicken followed by my favorite dessert which is either cookies or popcorn! So…do you think I still lost weight? Stay tuned! I also have to ask my husband because we just haven’t talked about it lately!

THUMBS UP TO HUSBAND!
Oh no! My husband is 1.5 pounds ahead of me! That’s right! He’s winning at this time! That means I follow my Nutrisystem program to the “T.” I am NOT going to let him get ahead of me!!!! After last week’s parties, etc., I have been doing very well. I still need to add several more days of exercise besides my two zumba days. My husband is not even exercising! He would really be ahead of me if he were!
Any suggestions for me to leave him in the dust??? Stay tuned for the update next week. I am SURE I will be back in the lead…or at least even with him!!!

Ahhhh! We are both stuck around this weight loss. Time to step it up and make sure we eat all of our Nutrisystem foods each and every day! Luckily the weather is beautiful and can get out and walk. Something has to push us into the next 5 pound weight loss! Actually, we had a big party for my daughter who gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and we both ate things we shouldn’t have. Also, both our birthdays were last week: March 13 and 14th so we indulged a bit and figured it was ok to do that once in awhile…but then the party. I have next to no willpower when there are foods around that I shouldn’t eat. There were cupcakes, cookies, chips along with fruit and vegetables, etc. We did enjoy our Nutrisystem breakfast and lunches, but skipped the dinner! Oh well! Hoping the following week will show some results!
Tonight we both had the turkey with vegetables for dinner! It was delicious! Back on the wagon again! Oh, and by the way, I am still ahead! :) I will be thrilled when I hit the 20 pound weight loss. Then I think I will go for 5 more and maybe another 5 after that! The program has definitely taught me portion control and the fact that I need to make sure I add more fiber to my daily diet. Water, water, and more water is also important! Thanks Nutrisystem!

Who do you think is the leader in our Nutrisystem competition so far? My husband or me? We have both been eating Nutrisystem daily. Sometimes we skip a dinner and many times a dessert. I know we aren’t supposed to do that, but sometimes can’t help it!!!!
Well I will start with some facts.
Husband: Me:
Eats occasional fish instead of Nutrisystem Cheats at least 3 times per week with chocolate, cookies or a hamburger
Drinks about 4 glasses of water per day Drinks at least 7 glasses of water per day
Drinks beer about 4 times a week Drinks very little alcohol
Eats raw broccoli, carrots and cauliflower daily Drinks occasional V-8 for vegetable…along with Nutrisystem
Has a job where he has to climb flights of stairs Goes to Zumba class 2 times per week and an occasional Tae-Bo work-out
numerous times per day
Sleeps at least 8 hours per night Sleeps 8 hours per night
I can’t believe it, but I have lost more than him! . I don’t know how…maybe it is a little more exercise than him. Whatever…I am thrilled! I still have 15 pounds to go…or would love to drop an additional 2o pounds. We’ll see! I still enjoy the foods and since this is my third month, I know what foods I prefer. My last order was filled with muffins, mashed potatoes, a few bars (found my favorite…peanut butter), and soups along with the provided frozen foods. I ate too many pizzas my first month, so a little tired of those. We look forward to the next month. Will I still be in the lead???

At this point I am pretty discouraged at all the negative comments from a certain group of people. Those who assumed bad things were happening because of no posts during her labor are totally wrong. We refused to post any more because everything we said was twisted and turned around into negativity. I quit posting on my blog because of that. You negative people ruined it for everyone else. Please leave Emily and her family alone. Unfortunately, Emily is reading these. She is strong and will refuse to let these things bring her down. So just stop with all your speculations. It’s over and family is safe, happy and healthy.
We are very close in weight loss this week and I think it is driving my husband crazy that I about caught up to him. He has lost 9 pounds and I have lost 8! :) I will have to admit I cheated a little this week. Why do I tend to do that just because I lost a pound???? My husband, on the other hand, is annoyed that I am right behind him, so he has done very well. We will see what next week’s weigh-in brings!!!!

This is a guest post from my husband…my competitor on our weight loss journey. He has been eating Nutrisystem foods for over a week now. He also adds his own fish for dinner now and then.
What a great way to lose weight by eating healthy food that is also really good. I am not a picky eater like Beth is, so I like pretty much everything that I have tried. I enjoy the spicier foods that Beth doesn’t. I also like the cereals and oatmeal for breakfast rather than the muffins that she eats. I am excited and motivated to lose weight with my wife. We both want to be healthier and feel better by the spring. I have never been overweight like I am now. I think it comes from too much work and not enough exercise. I had developed a bad habit of skipping breakfast and many times skipping lunch too because I am so busy at work. Then I would come home and eat way too much for dinner, crash and go to bed. Now with Nutrisystem, I can grab something easy in the morning and something for a quick lunch at work. Then I come home at night and choose a healthy dinner with Beth. I try to drink enough water during the day and have cut the amount of coffee I drink. I can say that even after only a little under two weeks of this, I am beginning to feel much better. I even sleep better at night! Thank you Nutrisystem!

Thanks to Nutrisystem because now my husband has joined the program. We have a competition going on to see who will lose the most weight! I know that men lose weight more quickly (or at least that is what I choose to believe) and he is ahead of me already. I haven’t weighed myself for a week but will tomorrow and post again. He has lost about 8 pounds and I have lost about 6. That’s about 1 pound a week for me. I wish it was more but I guess it is better to lose slowly to keep it off! Yes, we cheat now and then with our favorite pizza but have definitely learned portion control! My husband, Dennis, has been on the program for about a week and a half. He has no time for exercise but I do so hopefully I can keep up with his weight loss by doing zumba and TaeBo!
Dennis has about 35 pounds to lose and I would be happy with losing 20 more. I have found my favorite foods on Nutrisystem now. For breakfast I love the muffins, cereal, and pancakes. I tend to go for those first and then with the foods. For lunch I love the soups, bars and mashed potatoes! Remember, I am a very picky eater!!!

My favorite dinners the pizzas and love, love the mashed potatoes with beef. There are many others that I really like so will have to go write them down and add to it tomorrow. Dennis loves the soups and so far all the dinners he has eaten. He tends to forget about the desserts and I don’t know why!!!!!
Anyway, it is fun to have someone to work with on this program. Now we have to figure out what the winner will get! Maybe we should reward ourselves with a weekend trip!? Who do you think will lose the most weight??? ha!

Oops!!! Been sick for past 5 days so haven’t posted my Nutrisystem progress! Actually it was quite hard to keep eating when I didn’t feel well so I didn’t follow it as well as I did the first week. My weight has dropped 3.5 pounds since I began and I couldn’t be happier! I do still have my cravings for sweets and I am assuming that is going to take me awhile to get out of my system. I can say that I have eaten healthier than I have in months. I have been eating the muffins for breakfast and then drink the yummy shake mid-morning. That keeps me full. My favorite lunch is the mashed potatoes…easy and good. I am not a huge fan of the bars but I do eat them because they are easy! They are great to grab on the run. I am trying to add fruit and veggies during the day, but I tend to put those last. An apple a day is working for me but for vegetables…ahh – not eating enough. I don’t like many so tend not to open frig and grab a carrot.
I haven’t been on the scale for about 3 days because I am scared to look. I am wondering because I didn’t eat all foods I was supposed to when sick, if I put any weight back on. When I do put weight back on, I get disgusted with myself and lose motivation. Also, I have not been able to exercise like I did the first week. Only got to the Y twice before getting this bad cold! I plan to go back tomorrow and kick butt.
It is about to order my next month’s food. Since I am such a picky eater, I tend to order a lot of the same thing, which I am afraid is going to get boring. I need to spend some more time reading other’s ideas on how to change it up a bit. Do you have any suggestions for me?

Ahhh! Finally started my Nutrisystem program and because I waited so long, I was very eager to begin! Let’s get off this extra weight! I am SURE I put on an additional few pounds over the holidays too! Yesterday was my first day. I started the day with a banana muffin which was quite good! Then, with the new SUCCESS program, we were given shakes with additional protein to drink at breakfast time or sometime in the morning. I mixed it up and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! Usually something mixed with water is not too good, but this sure was! I had the chocolate! YUMMMM. So far so good! For lunch I tried the Chicken Noodle Soup. Another great choice. It also was really good. I liked that it wasn’t too salty. I realized I was supposed to have other things throughout the day like extra protein, vegetables, fruit, etc. I had nothing in the house so I had a spoonful of peanut butter and later had a few peanuts. At dinner time, I tried the cheese and spinach ravioli. I am a VERY picky eater so I thought for sure I was not going to be too fond of this. WRONG! It was really good! For dessert I had a peanut butter cookie which also was pretty good. Hey…it was a cookie! I can’t complain! Overall, I am thrilled with the program.
Day two was also quite successful. I had a cinnamon roll which was kind of tough but again, not bad (not as good as the banana muffin). I tried microwaving it for a few seconds to see if it softened up. I was watching my 2 year old grandson. He was eating Cheerios and pointed at what I was eating. He wanted a bite so I gave him a little piece. He loved it and kept asking for more. Lunch was cheese mashed potatoes. Those were great. I LOVE mashed potatoes so I knew I would like that. I still hadn’t gone to the store so that’s all I had with my water. As I write this I am eating my thick crust cheese pizza. I baked it in the oven rather than microwaving so it would be a little crunchy. Again, very good. I finally went to the store, so I am eating a few apple slices with that. I also had a whole grain cracker for a snack this afternoon.
I am not used to eating much. My problem is that I don’t stop to eat lunch and then end up munching on all the wrong things. So, I feel like I am eating all day long! Love it!! I did walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes each day plus play and run after my adorable little toddler grandson! Tomorrow I am going to the Y to work out. I am on my way!
Do you have any tips for me? What are your favorite Nutrisystem foods?
