Wow, you guys, the second annual Blogger Baby Shower was a blast! We seriously couldn’t have asked for a better day. The weather was perfect, the company was amazing, we raised awareness for a wonderful, life-saving cause, and we met some really great people! Oh, there was food, too. I remember visiting the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry all the time as a kid… it was like the go-to field trip in school and I’m not even sure how many years my classes hopped on a bus for a day exploring. I haven’t been in YEARS… and it’s on our summer to-do list this year now that we have kids of our own! We want them to explore, be 1. Be nice or go home. 2. Own your sh*t. 3. Don’t be cray-cray on facebook. 4. Have more sex. (And now my husband says the money for this conference was well spent 😉 Nice planning, BBC!) 5. @TiffanyRom is pretty.
Okay, really, I learned a TON MORE. Enough to fill 435 blog posts, probably. Enough to keep me busy for ages. It was all very educational and very motivating and inspiring. I can’t wait to implement some of the things I learned… share with you guys… and be doing what Oh boy, where do I start?! Two weeks ago, I was invited to a “Moms Night Out” with Residence Inn by Marriott downtown Chicago. You could not have signed me up fast enough! A night away at a great hotel with wonderful people, getting spoiled in downtown Chicago, and learning more about travel and Residence Inn! There was a small group of bloggers (the #RIMoms: Paula from Frosted Fingers, Lisa from Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh boy, Maria from A Savings Oh my, I cannot believe it’s July. WHERE did this summer go?! I made a huge list of things I wanted to do with the kids this summer and I’ve barely done any of them… maybe hiking the state park an hour away and riding the riverboat were a bit too ambitious lol. But there’s still time! And anyway, we’ve been keeping really busy and have had so much fun. My posts about this stuff have been too few and far between so I’m attempting to catch up right now with a massive photo Ya know, I’ve lived just outside of Chicago all my life (okay, except the ~4 years I was in Iowa for school) and I’ve never been to the Taste of Chicago! As you know, we recently moved a bit more south, closer to my husband’s job, and that puts us a little closer to Chicago and I’ve been venturing out that way more often.
