A nursery room humidifier for your essential oils!

Winter in the midwest can be brutal—everyone gets sick, the house gets so dry, we’re stuck indoors… (ps: there are 26 days until spring). We have a big humidifier always on in our basement to help combat the winter dryness, but I find that it still bothers me at night when we’re upstairs in our bedrooms for 6+ hours. Portable humidifiers are a beautiful thing!

We have the digital humidifier and diffuser from Babymoov. It’s in our (almost) 3-year-old daughter’s room most of the time, but we move it around if someone isn’t

sweet baby girl’s room: teal and red nursery decor ideas

Beautiful nursery decor ideas for a teal and red room! Feminine and sweet without all the pink 🙂 These are photos from my friend’s nursery for her little girl, Everly.

Nursery Decor Ideas

I love it because it’s super pretty and girly without being full of PINK everywhere. The walls are shades of teal, the furniture is white, and accessories are red (with some pink).

My friend, Joanna, found this canvas on Amazon and based the rest of the nursery

changing cloth diapers: our setup

A crib and a changing table. The two main things that make up a baby’s new room, right? They’re probably listed on almost every baby registry. I remember when I was pregnant with Ryan, many people told me they never used their changing table and that I shouldn’t even bother getting one. They just changed their kid wherever and whenever because it was easiest. But it’s one of those new baby things… I had to have one!

And I’m glad we did–we really do use it ALL the time. I suppose if we lived

Getting ready for the baby!

One week? Two weeks? THREE weeks?! Who the crap knows. Tomorrow?!?! The suspense is killing me! And ya know what’s really weird? I wasn’t nearly this anxious when I was pregnant with Ryan. I went 9 days late and didn’t even bat an eyelash… I was so laid back and “eh, whatever” about it. This time? At every contraction (which is nearly every 10 minutes lol), I’m all “IS THIS IT?!”

After the 3-4 hours of consistent contractions on Sunday night and their sudden disappearance, I was pretty disappointed. And exhausted. I napped a

Inspiration for our baby girl’s nursery

We were going to use Ryan’s crib for the new baby and convert Ryan to a twin-sized bed because we had an extra one. But then we found out we were having a girl and I really really reallllllllllllllly wanted her to have a white crib. Ryan’s is espresso colored. When Hayneedle said they’d send us one, I was super excited. The twin bed is in our basement, Ryan’s crib is now a toddler bed, and our baby girl gets a white crib.

So then I had dreams: all white furniture, pink accessories and…

Ryan’s newly painted room!

Just over a week ago I posted about painting Ryan’s room and I had selected three possible paint samples to try out: Truly Olive, Red Delicious and Steel Blue. At the time, I was leaning toward truly olive, but ended up making a different decision.

I had to ask my husband’s opinion (ya know, because he lives here too) and the opinion of my brother-in-law because, after all, this is his house and we are renting from him.

So what’d we all decide on?!

FINALLY painting Ryan’s room

Soooo, when Ryan was like 5 months old (?) I ripped down the hideous wallpaper in his room. I had big plans for painting and decorating!

Ugly Wallpaper:

But there was all this glue residue left on the walls and it would NOT come off by any normal methods of cleaning and scraping. I bought that “diff” stuff from the paint aisle… you spray it on, let it sit for 10 minutes, then sponge it off. Sponge?! No. Not happening. Didn’t work. I had to buy a big scraper
