Top 9 educational toys from Discovery Toys

Do you remember playing with Discovery Toys when you were a kid? I do and I’m thrilled to be buying them now for my kids! You must at least remember their marbleworks toy—it’s still the best!

We had some educational toy that I was obsessed with—like word problems, matching, simple math kind of things. They don’t have it anymore, but I’d say their current “It’s a Match” game is the closest thing to it.

So I came up with a list of my favorite education

PLAYSKOOL Parties with Let’s Imagine Elmo

I wrote this review while participating in a campaign for Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Playskool. I received product samples to facilitate my party and review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.

A couple of weeks ago we had some friends over to play with our new PLAYSKOOL toys! We had a good variety for all ages, boys and girls, and were ready for lots of fun! I love the imaginative play of little ones and am always hunting for toys to inspire that. PLAYSKOOL products are specifically designed

The Food Chain: fun & educational activities for kids

Our 4 (almost 5) year old son is so excited to learn about everything and he really soaks it all in, making it really fun to teach him about the world right now. He’s thrilled to participate in any hands-on activity and we usually learn best by DOING, right? I try to combine different things when teaching (from realizing how I learn best and from previously being a teacher and observing my own students). We read, we draw, we listen, we watch, we do.

Today’s fun and educational lesson is on the food

Traveling WITHOUT Kids: a RecordablePal giveaway

Traveling WITH kids is hard. What to pack, how to keep them entertained, what stroller(s) or babywearing carriers to bring, what hotels are best, what activities to do with toddlers…. I’ve seen countless blog posts on every topic. But what about when mom or dad is traveling WITHOUT kids?

It can be very hard, too. It’s a change in routine for the kids that can be difficult to adjust to. They miss mom or dad. They’re staying with grandma and grandpa and aren’t in their own home. And maybe the hardest of all—mom

How your kids can EARN screen time

Last month I shared a new website my kids and I love called Animal Jam. Not only does it have an awesome online “playground,” but they offer a LOT of amazing free resources… printables with coloring pages and connect-the-dots, science experiments, crafts, educational sheets on animals, and more. Endless hours of fun (and learning)!

Last month we painted rocks from our yard to look like ladybugs, while we chatted about them and other insects. This

My Child Ate….. (Now What?!) poison control resources

I think I’m pretty lucky that in my last 4.5 years of parenting two little ones, I’ve only had to deal with a “my child ate…” moment once. Rebecca grabbed a sunscreen stick and, thinking it was chap stick, put it on her lips and then continued to put it IN her mouth. I think she barely ate any, but still, as a parent you have that NOW WHAT?! moment.

Yea, ya see “poop” on that image above? Not here (KNOCK ON SOME FREAKIN’ WOOD), but that happens. When I was little, my

Jake & Sofia: new Disney at Kohl’s

I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kohl’s. I received a promotional item to facilitate my review.

Back-to-school shopping is starting and that means gearing up for fall! Kohl’s is usually one of our stops because I love the Jumping Beans clothes for the kids–they’re always comfortable and great quality; the sweats for boys are some of my favorites for Ryan!

There’s a new Disney by Jumping Beans collection available
