baby girl wish list

I’ve been pinning things on Pinterest and making a mental note of everything I need (okay… WANT) for this baby girl. Some are things I really must buy, others are things we probably won’t buy right away (or maybe at all) and I’m just wishing. But this post is, again, because I’m a nerdy list maker and it helps me keep things organized:

Ryan has this Anywhere Chair with his name on it from Pottery Barn Kids and he LOVES it… so baby girl needs one too!

We also have a sign like this in Ryan’s room and it’s what we always say–so I want one in baby girl’s room too.

Scentsy for the nursery… we have the blue one for Ryan–it’s pretty and smells awesome. I want the pink one for baby girl!

Her whole bedroom will be white and pink, simple and classic. We have a white crib and an armoire and side table that I got at a garage sale that I need to paint white. So what I still need (….want)…. is a white toy chest (like the picture so I can add a pink cushion) and simple changing table…

I was thinking a very plain and simple changing table–the open kind with 3 shelves, but then I saw this one and it’s not as bulky as a dresser/table, but I LOVE that it has the hamper built in for dirty cloth diapers!

A chandelier. Know where I can find one for a good deal? They’re expensive!!! I’m hoping to find a vintage one that I can paint white and Hobby Lobby has pink chandelier shades for $5 each… Also? I need to make a pink drape like this one over the crib (anyone know how? lol):

Cloth diaper or onesie that says “born at home!”

Everything ruffly 🙂 I just got in the mail 2 diaper covers from RuffleButts–sooo cute! The dress is $34.50 from RuffleButts and matching shoes for $19.50.

$30 on Etsy:

Love “big brother” and “little sister” type shirts… you can make or order personalized ones on Etsy (“I <3 Ryan”)

.
Okay… I think that might be it… for now. 😉

  • We do the “love you to the moon and back,” as well! My daughter has broken it down to…”to the moon and back…love you…so much.” It’s adorable. And congrats on doing a home birth…I did it with my daughter and it was great. 🙂

I’m like obsessing over the drapes behind the crib…It took me forever to find what they are and now I can’t find anyone that sells them!! They are called Mosquito nets and if you find anywhere that sells them for a reasonable price or find a tutorial on how to make one PLEASE let me know!! I love all your wish list btw!! So cute!!

I imagine they’re kinda expensive… the closest tutorial I could find so far is one for making a fort with a hula hoop (http://pinterest.com/pin/180523045/) – maybe we could cut the hoop in half and sew on some sheer/tulle pink fabric… I don’t know!

To make the bed curtain. Go to local Home Depot or other store. Get a curved shower curtain rod. Buy hardware to mount the curtain rod. Use a light weight type fabric. Measure around the curtain rod, measure from curtain rod to floor. As an example if curtain rod was 45 inches around and it was 6 feet or 72 inches from rod to floor, you would need to purchase 4 yards of fabric. Ask at the store to cut the fabric into lengths of 2 yards each so you have a total of 4 cut pieces of fabric. Sew 2 lengths together, make an opening at the top wide enough to slip the rod through. Do the same for the other two. Finish seams. Tie back the two separate lengths at the corners of the crib and let it drape. If you want it to flow onto the floor, buy an extra 1 1/3 yards to increase the length by 12 inches. The width of fabric comes in 45″ widths so using two lengths of the fabric will put 90 inches of fabric pushed together on the rod to get that flowing look and not a curtain that “just fits on the bar”. Really an easy project. Good Luck!

  • Adorable! Love love love your style! 🙂

Oh, but trust me, you won’t want an open hamper like that for dirty cloth diapers… Peeee you!! haha. I’ve accidently left one out before and the whole upstairs was stinking! I prefer the closed bins or what we use… A pink and white diaper champ!

Oooooo good point!!! I didn’t even think of that… we use hanging wet bags for Ryan’s cloth so they aren’t in a closed container, but not exactly wide open either. Well, that just saved me money, because simple and open changing tables and cheaper! 🙂

If you use cloth diapers, be sure to use a mixture of water and bleach for the diapers to soak in until you get them to the wash. Rinse out any really dirty diapers before putting them into the container.
