These are soooo easy to make and are so delicious! Great for a snack, side dish, or appetizers at a party! Depending on the ingredients you use, too, you could whip this up in no time at all. Here’s what I used: 6 ingredients (plus cooking spray for the pan).
So I made this with those Crescent biscuits that have 8 crescents (or 4 squares) in a package. I cut each square into quarters so that gave me 16 small pieces of dough… meaning I needed 16 pieces of mozzarella cheese. If you use different dough? Make as many as you want.
I used a block of mozzarella cheese because that’s what we had. Sure, it takes almost no time at all to cut up ~16 small chunks, but you could also buy those bags of cubed cheese if you want this meal to be super duper fast.
So here’s one of those crescent squares. Two of them are connected with perforations along the diagonal. I pinched the perforated area to seal the 2 sides together in order to make one solid rectangle.
Then I cut each of these 4 rectangles into quarters. Ideally you’d have squares so this would probably be easier (and faster) if you just used pizza dough.
For each pizza puff bite I used 2 slices of pepperoni… so here’s everything all ready to go!
Take one piece of dough and one piece of cheese…
Add your pepperoni…
And fold in the corners of the dough.
Seal all the sides together so you have a complete little ball of yumminess.
I baked them in a round cake pan (sprayed with cooking spray!), but you could use pretty much anything… a pie pan or baking sheet… yes, when these bake they will expand and will be touching each other. It’s okay!
I brushed olive oil over the tops of each one…
Then sprinkled on some Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes (until golden in color). Eat alone or with marinara (or ranch or whatever else you love)!
~16 cubes of mozzarella cheese
~32 slices of pepperoni
~16 pieces of dough (I used crescents, but it’s probably easier to just use pizza dough)
~olive oil
~Italian seasoning
~parmesan cheese
~cooking spray for the pan (9″ round cake pan, pie pan, etc.)
1. Prep your dough and mozzarella cheese, if needed (cut in pieces/cubes)
2. Wrap one chunk of cheese and 2 pepperoni slices into each piece of dough
3. Place pizza puffs into a greased round 9″ cake pan (or something similar) and top with olive oil, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese
4. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
5. EAT! Serve solo or with dipping sauces.
Once a week my grandsons visit & we make dinner together. I’m always looking for simple ideas to do with them & this is great. Thanks you.
