Who does the laundry in your house? I think I’m pretty lucky that my husband helps… in fact, he might do laundry slightly more than half of the time. We kind of agree that my main job during the day is to focus on the kids–I’m usually playing outside or taking them to do fun activities (yesterday we visited an animal shelter and then out for lunch!) so my duties around the house kinda… don’t… get done…. I get to things when I can though, in a spare minute or during nap time, but some days? The house looks the same as when Steve left that morning. Then he comes home from work and either helps with the kids or helps with the chores. It’s a wonderful man I have, I know 😉
But now….. we are about to get a brand new washer and dryer. We’ve never had a brand new washer and dryer. Let me think about this a minute… we bought our current set from the backroom at a local store–they didn’t even know how old they were. Before this, we rented, we lived in an apartment where we did laundry with hundreds of other people in the basement, we lived in my parents’ basement and used their washer and dryer, and we did some college living–which included more shared laundry rooms, laundromats, and hideously old and ugly washers and dryers. PHEW!
This is what it’s like now:
But once our new washer and dryer come, I anticipate it will be different. Rainbows and sparkles and glitter, different. “Ryan, mommy is busy doing laundry right now, go play in your room,” different. Washing clothes for fun, different.
Because we are getting the Bravos XL high-efficiency top-load washer and dryer from Maytag. It’s going to be like THIS:
This washer has a PowerWash cycle for the toughest stains, an allergen removal cycle (gets rid of 95% of common household allergens), XL capacity, AND it uses 76% less water and 78% less energy. This dryer has a moisture sensing system (SO COOL), a steam cycle to reduce wrinkles, and it uses 40% less energy when paired with this washer.
This is going to be amazing for our family of 4. I remember back in the good old days when I did my own laundry once a week. Now I do laundry (or Steve does) every single day. Maybe twice a day. Not only do we have lots of clothes for 4 people (and shouldn’t kids count double with all the clothes they go through in a day?), but we also have two in cloth diapers. That’s a LOT of laundry!
So good thing our new washer and dryer are going to make our laundry room all sunshiney and full of sparkles 😉 I have GRAND plans for an entire laundry room makeover…. stay tuned!!! Over the next 4 months, I’ll be sharing updates with you about the new washer and dryer from Maytag as one of their #MaytagMoms ambassadors and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Thanks, Maytag and Mom Central!
~Disclosure: I wrote this while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Maytag. I will be receiving a new washer and dryer to facilitate my posts. All opinions are my own!
The cartoons are cracking me up, you should totally quit your day job and become a cartoonist 😉
I can’t wait to hear more about the washer and dryer!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of these for cloth diapers. Will you use the steam clean for that, too, or just a sanitize setting? I’ll definitely be back to see your updates on these!

What a super nice washer and dryer. I might even get excited if they were in my house!

AHhahaha… you crack me up. I wish my husband would help with laundry, He even called one day to ask me where the detergent was and where to put it because he got tar on his shorts and needed to wash them LOL. Any ways I wish I would have known we were going to cloth diaper before we bought our new washing machine and dryer. Although we weren’t even pregnant when we bought ours. I am slowly figuring out how to wash diapers the most efficiently in a front loader :/

I totally have that same feeling! I LOVE MY MAYTAG BRAVO XL washer and dryer! We bought our about a year ago and every week when I use it, its like the birds come out signing and there’s sunshine in my life. Actually I think my husbands tired of me bragging to him and everyone on how wonder theses babies are! I highly recommend spending the extra $ and buy these. It even saves me money on dry cleaning clothes and doing all our bedding drapes ect! I’m in my golden years and have been thru so many over the years but NOTHING COMPARES TO THESE NOTHING!
