It’s going to be like Christmas every month at Baby Dickey!

I’ve always liked to draw and be semi-artsy, but have never considered myself a crafty person… I mean, I don’t make things. Like many other aspects of my life, having kids has completely changed that. Now, I make things. Crib sheets. Clothes. Anything with photos. Handprints EVERYWHERE. Halloween costumes. Cute food (yea, that happens). I loooove making things.

I love getting crafty and a major reason is because my kids love it, too. Ryan will drop whatever he is doing (even the iPad) if I say those 2 magical words… CRAFT TIME! He comes running, “OOoooooOO YEA!” We do a lot of our craft time while Rebecca naps so that makes it even better – quality mama/son time.

And I am so so so excited to bring BabbaBox to you. I’ve tried a few different craft kits with ideas similar to this one… none have been as amazing. The BabbaBox has been, by far, the best… the highest quality, the most useful crafts, the most bang for your buck, and the most fun.

Each month BabbaBox has a different craft kit that gets sent to your front door–first of all, it’s like Christmas once a month, that box is so exciting to see! You can sign up for just one month to try it out, get a monthly subscription (at a slight discount), or pay for an entire year upfront (at a larger discount). Anyway, the box we got (November’s) was PERFECT…

Ryan has always been into the moon… it goes way back to my grandpa who would always look at the moon and point it out. He passed away just weeks before Ryan was born, so Ryan hears stories about him all the time and the moon is very special to us. Ryan now points out the moon every time he sees it. He’ll specifically look for it at night, but gets very excited when he sees it up in the sky during the middle of the day 🙂

This kit was all about the night sky and the moon, so beyond perfect. We got to create constellations, make a paper mache moon night light, read a book, and start a lunar calendar. OH and Ryan got some binoculars that haven’t left his side. I really enjoy when he uses them to zoom in on my face. 😀 It really has taken us weeks to get through all the items so one box a month is perfect and, like I said, an incredible value.

Do you remember playing with that sunlight paper when you were a kid?? I do… it was like magic to set random objects on it and have it change in the sun. With Ryan, we talked about constellations and looked at some of the included examples. Then he filled a sunlight paper with star stickers (he said it was a “bear”) and we went outside to work some magic. It was freezing cold and cloudy, haha, but things that are imperfect just make better memories. We cuddled to stay warm as we just sat and stared at the paper. After 5-10 minutes, when Ryan decided it was done (and his hands were too cold), we brought it inside, dipped it in water, and pulled the stickers off. MAGIC!!! Ryan shows his bear “consuh-ation” to everyone that comes over.

Ohhhh and the paper mache moon, looooove. Ryan has never done paper mache before and this kid does NOT like getting his hands dirty. Luckily I love getting my hands dirty so we made a great team… Ryan would put the pieces of paper in the bowl of glue mix and stir them around with a stick… then he’d tell me to take them out and where to put each one on the balloon.

This layer dried over night and now it’s ready for layer number two that we’ll finish today. I absolutely can’t wait to see the finished product and turn on the little “candle” tea light (included in the kit!) under his moon. I kinda want it in my room lol.

The BabbaBox had everything we needed, they really thought of everything, down to some extra supplies just in case. I love that each box every month comes with a book, too… great way to add to our library and our son loves reading. The kit is almost worth it JUST for the book! Each box also comes with 2 “create” activities, 1 “explore” activity, and 1 digital download. The boxes are geared toward ages 3-6 and Ryan will be turning 3 in a couple of weeks… they’re perfect.

If I haven’t convinced you of its awesomeness yet, let me tell you how much I really love it. Yes, I was sent this box at no cost and this IS a sponsored post…. but I just hopped online and ordered an entire year upfront. 12 more BabbaBoxes coming our way!!! (Who is more excited–me or Ryan? lol)

For signing up now, the next box I’ll get (January’s) is called “Get Organized!” and the website lists what to expect. Here’s an example of one of the “Create” crafts–an art supplies organizer–can’t wait! Check out this video of BabbaBox to see more.
