(Chocolate Glazed) Coffee Body Scrub: Dunkin’ Donuts Mug Up!

I hope you’ve been having fun with the new theme each month for the Dunkin’ Donuts Mug Up contest! I’ve had fun sharing them with you and creating my own photos 🙂 Don’t forget that there are awesome prizes up for grabs and you can enter every single day!

It’s a new month (already?!) and time for a new theme! This February we want to see your Mug Love! In honor of Valentine’s Day, show us the love! We already know you love coffee… do you have a mug you love to use? Or does it have something you love on it? I

I grabbed one of my favorite mugs, “Love me, I’m Norwegian,” and snapped a photo in front of my favorite canvas of our kids… lots of love in this picture <3

I was also inspired by my Dunkin’ Donuts coffee to make a new creation. You can bake with coffee grounds (yum!), but did you also know that caffeine is great for your skin?! I’m into making my own skincare products and if you’re a Baby Dickey blog reader, you know I could live off of two things… coffee and chocolate.

This Coffee Body Scrub seriously couldn’t be easier to make. I used Dunkin’ Donuts Chocolate Glaze coffee grounds because it combines my two favorites and smells like AWESOME IN A BAG. You could use your favorite, maybe French Vanilla or Cinnamon Spice!!!

There are so many ways to make this, but I’ll tell you what I did:

  • 3/4 cup of coffee grounds
  • 3/4 cup of sea salt
  • 1/2 cup of organic, virgin coconut oil

Dump it all in a bowl and stir it up–that’s it! Of course if you’re using coconut oil you’ll want to melt it first (I just put it in a glass bowl and zap it in the microwave). You could use any other light oil, too, I just love coconut oil and how it truly moisturizes the skin and feels great (make sure you use Virgin oil though).

You could also use raw sugar (or regular granulated sugar)—really, whatever you have on hand in your pantry! Mixed with the coffee grounds, it helps to exfoliate your skin. The caffeine in the coffee is rich in antioxidants (as is the coconut oil), which is great for your skin. It is said to help with cellulite.

My recipe above makes enough to fill about 3 of those small mason jars in my photo. I love putting these at sinks around the house so my hands get pampered once in awhile 🙂 They make easy and amazing gifts, too, or just use it all in one air-tight container near your shower! Rub it all over (or problem areas, especially feet, thighs, elbows) and rinse with warm water. Don’t wash with soap after or you’ll remove those great oils you just put on! You can also use this coffee body scrub on your face, but be gentle and don’t get too close to the area underneath your eyes because it’s extra sensitive.

Valentine’s Day? Surprise your loved one with Dunkin’ Donuts coffee AND a homemade Coffee Body Scrub! Mmmmm, that’d be the best present ever! 🙂

And head over to Dunkin’ Donuts to enter the Mug Up contest! Upload a photo to their site or share it on Instagram with the hashtag #DunkinMugUp (and make sure you’re registered on their site).

I hope by now you’re feeling the love. Show Dunkin’ Donuts your love for coffee by uploading a photo of you and the mug that you love here for a chance to win prizes in the Mug Up Contest.
