When I was in high school I had the best math teacher ever. Okay, maybe math was my favorite subject anyway, but this teacher celebrated PI DAY! You know that number, 3.14? 3.14159 is as much as I ever remembered of the entire number, which is never-ending, but 3.14 is March 14th… Pi Day! Our calculus teacher would bring in a bunch of pies and we’d spend the period eating 🙂 YUM.
I am SO OVER this winter and the freaking temps and all the snow. I’m just dreaming of spring and warm weather so when I went to Foodie.com to create a pie collection, all I could think about were fresh and fruity spring pies! I can’t wait for my favorite—strawberry rhubarb—but there are so many delicious looking pies in my collection, I think I will have to try a few! 😉
What’s the first fruity pie you’ll be making this spring? Pi Day, March 14th, is the day and it’s close enough to the start of spring 😉 I think I want to try that Tropical Fruit Pie! Ohhh and the Ricotta-Pineapple Pie! ((I’m near drooling over here.))  Or maybe you’ll make a savory pie for dinner? Whatever your favorites are, you can find lots more ideas over at foodie.com—come find me if you sign up!

I adore fruity pies! I really want to try the nectarine pie you included. Looks amazing.

I have a confession to make! I don’t like fruit pies! But that lemon blueberry looks amazing! I might make it this summer just for fun!

That flaky pear pie sounds great! I’ve never had a pear pie before.
