Patriotic Cake Balls

Patriotic Cake Balls

1 yellow cake mix (with ingredients listed on the box)
2-4 tablespoons vanilla frosting
2 bags white chocolate Wilton Candy Melts
Red sugar sprinkles
Wilton Cookie Icing, Blue

Prepare and bake the cake according to the instructions on the box.  Cool completely.

In a large bowl, break up the cake.

Use the back of a fork to add-in the frosting, one tablespoon at a time—you want the mixture to be moist, but not wet.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll the cake + frosting mixture into 1-inch balls.

Working in batches, heat the chocolate per the instructions on the bag. Dip the balls into the chocolate and lightly tap off the excess chocolate. Set the truffle onto the parchment paper. Repeat with the remaining cake balls.

Use the cookie icing and sprinkles to decorate the cake balls as desired.

Chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour until firm.  Serve chilled.  Store leftovers in an airtight container.

Happy 4th of July!
