My favorite holiday tradition is putting up the Christmas tree with my family. We watch Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate. We usually do it the weekend after Thanksgiving and really puts us all in the holiday spirit. It was a blast this year having our 2 year old daughter help hang up the ornaments and I know she will teach this baby everything she knows!

Our holiday traditions include fun family activities, like a movie or ice skating & decorating the house together- something we will remember after the “things” have been outgrown or lost. We spend Christmas Eve and morning having delicious meals together and watching the kids light up as they see that Santa has made a visit. Our newest tradition is Elf on the Shelf. We just started last year and although it was too late for our son who is 12, our 6 year old daughter thinks it is the most amazing thing ever and can hardly wait to see what kind of mischief he’s been into while she was sleeping. Being together is what makes it special for me.

I can’t wait to start new traditions with our sons. Of ones from my childhood that we still carry on each year is my mom giving us our stockings chock full of stuff…they are the same stockings we’ve always had growing up and I never want to receive anything but the big red nose Rudolph stocking.
