When I was a kid, my brother and I always got to open one present on Christmas Eve. It was usually a new pair of holiday pajamas! Now that my husband and I have two kids of our own, we continue the tradition! Except for one major problem… our Christmas Eve is SO busy! We spend it with my parents first and then we head to his parents’ house. By the time we get home at night, it’s late and the kids are exhausted. No one even feels up for opening presents, let alone reading a Christmas book or watching a movie.
So… this year we’re moving it to the night BEFORE the night before Christmas! A special little gift box to get us all ready for the busy (and exciting!) days ahead. Have you seen the adorable Northpole movie by Hallmark yet? I bought the gifts based on that movie for the kids’ gift boxes this year! Check out this Northpole Magic of Childhood video on YouTube for some holiday spirit 🙂
- Once Upon A Northpole Christmas story book + Find Me Santa Snowflake ($19.97 – Exclusively at Walmart)
- Find Me Santa Snowflake ($9.88)
- Two Magic snowballs ($2.97 – Walmart promo price)
- Rooftop Drop (Family fun game) ($9.88)
- Northpole Communicator ($24.88)
I found everything at Walmart and a lot of the items were on sale (less than what’s listed above). In all the Walmart stores I’ve been in, the toys are toward the back, but there was a big display of Northpole by Hallmark items near the front of the store—an entire aisle full!
The kids will share the Once Upon a Northpole Christmas story book (and we’ll read it the night BEFORE the night before Christmas!) and then of course I had to get an extra Find Me Santa Snowflake so they’d each have one to write their name on! It lights up different colors so Santa can find them—turn it on Christmas Eve and it will stay lit for 4 hours (until Santa comes!).
I love starting the fun a little bit early with this one special gift… the items in their gift bags will get them all ready! Matching holiday pajamas to get them snug in their beds, a Christmas story book to read together, a Northpole communicator to talk to Santa, personalized Snowflakes so Santa is SURE to find them, magic snowballs, and a game to keep them busy while they wait 😉
We’ll probably even bring that Rooftop Drop game over to Grandma’s on Christmas Eve… add some fun activities for the kids while the adults are chatting! It comes with little bean bags that you toss into the top of the chimney (guide the way for Santa!). I’ll bet the kids will want to bring their magic snowballs, too 😉 They are little white plush balls that light up colors of the northern lights from the Northpole. I had to get one for each kid! Play catch, hot potato, or even hide-and-seek with them!
Here are their night BEFORE the night before Christmas gifts! Each one has their own gift bag with their pajamas, magic snowball, and Find Me Santa Snowflake. Then they’ll both get and share the Christmas story book, Northpole Communicator, and Rooftop Drop game!

We always give one gift on Christmas Eve, too! I love the idea of doing it on the 23rd if your Christmas Eve’s are way too crazy, though!! Extending Christmas celebrations for 3 days is never a bad idea!! 😀 #client

I loved the Northpole movie. For Christmas Eve we go to my brother in laws to celebrate with my in laws. My boys get to open gifts from their grandma, uncles, aunt, and cousins. I usually have holiday pajamas that my mom makes the boys they wear to bed. I really like the Night before the Night before Christmas. I could read that early since we don’t get home in time on Christmas eve.

This is our second Christmas with the Northpole Communicator and my boys just love it! They all fight over who gets to push the button for the first time each day!

How fun! I absolutely love finding unique ways to celebrate the Holidays. I love incorporating everything Santa for the magical fun side along with celebrating baby Jesus’ Birthday! This looks like a really exciting way to get the kids excited for Christmas Eve!
