Hope everyone had a fun and relaxing 4th of July! We usually spend it at the lakehouse, but this year we got the itch for home improvement… and we stayed home all weekend to clean, organize, and paint! Ah, the things that excite you when you get “old,” haha. We spent the 4th of July at a friend’s pool for a cookout. Ryan and Rebecca made their own festive shirts and were in bed long before the fireworks 😉 The picture above is the best I could get of the two of them This post is SO ridiculously late, it’s embarrassing. Rebecca is 1 day shy of turning 15 months old and her 1st birthday party was three months ago. Basically, I took about 524302 photos and dreaded the task of 1) editing them and 2) trying to choose what photos to publish. AH! This will probably take me an hour to write because I still haven’t chosen… but at least I’ve edited! The cup is HALF FULL, people. On to Pretty in Pink… First, you can see Read More… I saw this awhile ago on Little BGCG’s blog, but at the time Ryan refused to answer any questions, haha. I just got him to sit down and chat with me… some of these questions he came up with an answer right away, but some of them I had to give him a big list of things and he picked one (like favorite holiday and favorite toy).
1. What is your favorite color? green and purple and blue and orange and yellow 2. What is your favorite toy? my bike 3. Newborn baby photos are the most precious things on the entire planet. You can’t look at one without an “awWWWWWWWWwwwWW!” escaping your mouth and your ovaries twining a bit for another squishy pink cheeked babe of your own. With the capabilities of the internet and new social sites like pinterest it’s impossible not to see the cutest baby photos ever. I think it’s a contest…. how can we make the CUTEST PHOTO EVER? How can we spread MORE BABY FEVER?! What else can we put this baby in?! We’ve tried a wagon…. a bucket…
Ohhhh, Rebecca. Where do I start? It’s such an exciting milestone… to turn one… but it’s hard for your mama, too. The first year flew by so quickly and now my baby girl isn’t a baby anymore. It’s bittersweet. But even if you aren’t a “baby” anymore, you’ll always be MY baby <3

Dear baby girl, You’re just a little sweetheart… the other day at the children’s museum another mom asked me if you were “7, maybe 8 months old?” You’re just a petite little girl, like your mama! You’re not walking yet, but you love standing and cruising along furniture or walking with a push toy. Just recently you’ve started attempting to stand unassisted! It won’t be too much longer!
You also love to climb… you can go all the way up the stairs on your own (with someone right Yes, I’m super behind. Rebecca turned 9 months old on the day we closed on the sale of our home, closed on the purchase of our new home, and moved into our new house… it was a big day! Followed by lots and lots and lots of unpacking… and getting ready for the holidays… Then Rebecca turned 10 months old on the day after Christmas, AKA the day before Ryan turned three years old. I tell ya, there’s no rest around here! So, I’m cutting myself some slack on missing these posts and am |
