Dr. Smith’s new product launch in Chicago

Last month I was invited to attend a special event for Dr. Smith’s in Chicago. Their Diaper Rash Ointment has been popular with parents for years, but they are just now launching in stores across the country so it’s EASY for us to find! I’ve been trying it out on the kids, got to meet the team in Chicago, and am excited about this opportunity for them.

The event was a lot of fun. I got to mingle with other local bloggers, chat with other media outlets, hear the story behind Dr. Smith’s

every day adventures

I’m a stay-at-home-mom… or I guess technically a work-at-home-mom… but with two little ones at home, every day is an adventure. Every day brings something new, a few surprises, and always lots of fun and giggles. I feel so lucky that I get to spend so much time with our children.

Anyone with kids knows that there must be plans or activity each day to keep away the boredom (or to keep the sanity lol). The BEST kind of fun is the spontaneous kind… when it’s pouring rain and you run outside with the

caring for my grandma… or trying to

About 4 years ago my grandparents moved from their apartment to an assisted living complex. My grandpa had Alzheimer’s and they needed more care, meals cooked for them, their laundry done, etc. My grandpa hated it there, when he remembered that it wasn’t his “home,” and I think that partly contributed to his fairly quick decline. Not too long after, he was hospitalized for trying to eat dinner with a knife. They found lung cancer and that was the cause of death just a few short months after…. but the Alzheimer’s was there, too,

Four tips for your personal finances

The ability to properly manage our finances is an important skill for everyone and something my husband and I have recently learned how to do together. However, staying on track and keeping a budget is often undermined by the wide availability of cheap credit. I mean, who would want to live within their means when they could so easily have access to a higher standard of living?! It is tempting!

The global financial crisis has underlined the importance of budgeting and planning for the future, from a national scale right down to our households.

I hate winter… round 2!

Not too long ago I wrote a post about how I have a love/hate relationship with the winter season. Really, I hate it. But I try to love it for my kids because they love the snow and I do like to see them having so much fun with it!

But now I have another reason to add to my list for hating winter. The cold weather does terrible things to my skin! This year it seems especially bad, I don’t know why, but my hands are soooo dry. They’re cracked and scaly and

moms can be fashionable too… right?

This post brought to you by No nonsense. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve never been all about fashion and I wouldn’t consider myself fashionable. In fact, now that I’m a mom I totally get the whole “mom jean” trend, haha. I do love yoga pants and I even kept around some of my maternity clothes… yikes, this is starting to sound pretty scary, right?

Okay, I’m not that bad… I hope… but I do like trends and fashions that are easy, especially as a mom. I love leggings and boots or

Winter Kids Fashion

I had so much fun with this post because… kids clothes are freaking adorable! I don’t think I have ever been a fashionable person. I’ll take a hoodie and jeans any day (okay, who am I kidding… YOGA PANTS). I used to love shopping and, ya know, I still do (and still occasionally buy things for myself… like new yoga pants lol)… but where is the first place I head when I walk in a store? The kids department!

I LOVE shopping for my kids. I love dressing them in outfits, sometimes multiple times
