You guys, I still haven’t unpacked. Wait, what day is it? Have I even showered since Mom 2.0? Ah, back to the life of a work-at-home-mom of 2 toddlers 😉
I had an AMAZING time at Mom 2.0 in Atlanta last weekend. I’ve been wanting to attend because I’ve heard great things and this year was my first opportunity. And those things you hear? All true. I met awesome bloggers (sometimes, I may have been a little “fan girl” about it in a way only other bloggers would understand), I am THRILLED to announce that I’ll be going to the Mom 2.0 conference in Atlanta next week with Contours! I’ve attended quite a few blog conferences in the past, but this will be my first time at Mom 2.0 and I couldn’t be representing a better brand. Your work is always easiest when you’re doing what you love, right? Visiting Atlanta will be another first for me! This will also be one of the few times I travel without the kids. When they were younger, they sometimes went to conferences with me. ~This post was written in a partnership with the blogging network Markerly. All opinions are my own. My blog started as a place to connect with friends and family when my husband and I lived out of state. It grew and turned into so much more. Now, my blog is my business and I make a very nice additional income for our family working from home. I love it! Part of how I make money is through blog networks that offer paid posts and sponsored content for influencer marketing. There are a lot of Now that we’re into 2014 I can look back on the past year and see how things went for Baby Dickey. I compare year to year and look at top posts and top traffic sources. It helps me make a plan of attack for the upcoming year and create some blogging tips & goals… what worked and what didn’t? What posts do the best? Where should I increase promotion of my content or where can I save time? I don’t stress too much about numbers because… I don’t like stress 😉 But I think Last year in NYC, Kristine of Cora’s Story and I hosted a Blogger Baby Shower. It was a wonderful success and tons of fun where we learned about newborn screening, shared relevant brands and products, gave away prizes, and chatted with friends. With some feedback from attendees that it was one of their favorite parties, we knew we had something. We added Christa of Little BGCG to our team and became The Baby Ladies: a Ahhh, I can’t wait!!! Last year in NYC, Kristine and I hosted our first Blogger Baby Shower For a Cause and it was a hit among the bloggers in attendance, we spread the word and raised awareness for a wonderful cause, and we had a ton of fun! We’ve since added Christa from Little BGCG to our team, creating our trio known as The Baby Ladies. *As a LifeLock Ambassador I received a membership & compensation for this post on work from home tax deductions* This is my third year being self-employed with my blog work and social media management. Taxes can certainly get tricky when you’re self-employed, especially when you’re new to the process. What can you claim? What deductions can you take or, maybe even more importantly, what deductions shouldn’t you take?
