These colder months can get rough for a mom of a preschooler and a toddler. When we can’t just run outside or play at the park, we start to go a little stir crazy! We like to (NEED to) fill our days with fun activities and my favorites are the ones that keep the kids entertained while they’re learning. Again, I headed back to the Animal Jam Academy to get some great ideas! I partnered with them to bring you these totally cool science experiments for kids… perfect for the colder months! Tip I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with LOTS to be thankful for! Right now I’m thankful for a long holiday weekend to get ready for the NEXT festive celebration! 😉 It’s cold and snowy outside, so I gathered the kids to help me make some fun holiday table decorations and place card flowers. They’re DIY Carnation Lollipop Flowers that would be fun for any party or event! I got this idea from my partnership with Animal Jam and their awesome Pinterest board of craft ideas. I mean… THEY’RE busy and I have to try to keep up 😉 The best days are the ones filled with activities we can do together, where I can watch my little ones learn about the world. I’m always looking for new things to do with them! Educational Fun: learning about insects and making ladybug rocks! We have landscaping full of rocks so we’re always using them for our crafting! Like our “You Rock!” painted paperweights for A clean house… what’s that?! We have a bajillion toys (garage sale time!) and two toddlers, which equals one massive mess. Every day. All the time. Keeping a home organized and attractive is a challenge, especially when there are children and those children have lots of toys! Both weekly and seasonal strategies can help create order and an opportunity to spend time with children one-on-one. Here are some tips on getting the kids involved with organizing toys… maybe a “superhero cleaning cape” helps? 😉 Weekly Strategy: Assign each child a bin or I hope you’ve been having fun with the new theme each month for the Dunkin’ Donuts Mug Up contest! We already know you love coffee… do you have a mug you love I just posted about the DIY Fairy Costume for Boys that I made for Ryan this year. He was in charge this Halloween and decided that him and his little sister, Rebecca, would both be fairies. Daddy will be Peter Pan and I will be Tinkerbell! He also made it clear that because there isn’t much pixie dust left (it comes from far, far away, you know), Rebecca and I will have to stay grounded as there’s only enough for him to fly……. haha. So here’s my Fairy Costume for Girls! Ryan first fell in love with pirates because of that TV show “Jake and the Neverland Pirates.” So of course I had to show him Peter Pan, one of our childhood favorites. And then? He became obsessed with Tinkerbell… and we saw the Tinkerbell movies… and he loves allllll the fairies. One day we got some pixie dust (from far far away!) and the poor kid was so disappointed when it didn’t make things fly! Anyway, with Halloween coming up I had been asking him what he wanted to be…. a fairy, OF COURSE! |
