halloween with the wizard of oz

I wasn’t sure how I would beat my homemade skeletons from last year… my preggo skeleton costume was a big hit and I worked hard on those babies.

This year, we were a family of FOUR! I wanted something creative and fun, but easy to make at home. We love the Wizard of Oz (clearly… two years ago we went as a Lion, a Tiger, and a Bear – OH MY!) and Ryan’s costume from his first Halloween in

Hostess with the mostess!

This post brought to you by Hostess Cakes. All opinions are 100% mine.

I loooove Halloween and everything that comes with it–making fun halloween costumes, decorating the house, doing crafts with the kids, and creating special spooky treats. I couldn’t find plain orange shirts this year so I went with the black ones. Luckily they had Rebecca’s size, too (in the boys section). Hmm… what to put

Well… I went to the store to make these for the fall… I got excited by the cooler weather and our trip to northern Wisconsin… but it seems I was a bit ahead of the game. The grocery store didn’t have any candy corn out yet!!! AHHHHHHHHH!

I was totally bummed, but

Ryan’s first pumpkin carving

During the week before Thanksgiving, Ryan and I carved a pumpkin–on the day he turned 22-months-old, actually! (Oct 27). We didn’t carve pumpkins last year, which disappointed me, so we had to this year, especially now that Ryan is old enough to help!

yay, let’s get started!

Ryan is really funny about being messy–he HATES it. If he gets one tiny piece of anything on his hands, you’ll know about it. I did the cutting (obviously) and Ryan insisted I do the
