*1?! week to go! take the poll below!*
^coolest picture ever. (from the visual md)
Same old stuff, different day. Not much exciting going on at this point, she’s just gaining more weight and getting more cramped. She’s probably somewhere around 7 pounds and about 20 inches long. A mini watermelon. I’m walking around with a watermelon.
Did you know that late-term ultrasounds are notoriously terrible at guessing the size of your baby? They can be off by ~2 pounds in either direction…. so if your doc

*2 weeks to go!*
This baby girl is making fists and my bladder is the punching bag. Oh, and my diaphragm. My ribs. My stomach. Pretty much everything.
She’s about 6.5 lbs and 19.5 inches long.
She’s still head down, but she has rotated. Remember I said she was on the left of my body and she needed to be on the right side, optimally? She tried. When I saw our midwife last Wednesday, baby girl wasn’t quite to the left side, leaving

*3 weeks to go!*
FULL TERM! My due date is still 3 weeks away so I know that doesn’t mean a lot, but it gives some peace of mind. This baby girl could be born anytime now with lungs mature enough to likely be just fine. I’ll take the 3 extra weeks though! And seeing how Ryan was 9 days late, I’m figuring I’ll get 4 more weeks with this little one.
Resources say she weighs around 6.5 lbs and is 19-20 inches long.

**Jennifer is a lovely woman I met online. She was reading my blog and saw my lists of things we still needed for our homebirth… she had some items leftover from her own homebirths and she very kindly and generously sent them to me. I appreciate it SO MUCH! I asked her if she’d type up a guest post about her homebirth so I could share it with all of you. Please say hi and show Jennifer some love! If you have ANY questions for her, feel free to leave them in the comments

**4 weeks to go! Well, 3.5… because this post is a little late ;)**
She’s somewhere around 18.5 inches long and 6 pounds. At my appointment today, my midwife guessed she was 5.5-6 lbs. And YAY we’ve reached the point that I could still have a homebirth if I went into labor now (ya know, assuming all signs are fine)…. because most babies born now do very well. But we still want her to keep cooking–have those lungs mature a bit more!
She’s getting pretty cramped. Usually your uterus fundus

I’ve got 5 weeks left. Just over a month. That’s 5 weekends to get things done with my husband, since weekdays are spent with Ryan while the hubby is at work. FIVE. I need to plan well. Lately, it’s all I think about. I might drive myself crazy first…. I make list after list, losing every one or changing the order or adding more things.
Well, I’m writing this blog post for me–to keep track of what I want to do or need to do–a list I won’t lose and a list

*6 weeks left!*
She’s just under 5 pounds (think: cantaloupe!) and is about 18 inches long from head to toe. She’s pretty much a BABY now and would do pretty well outside the womb at this point. But her nervous system and her lungs are continuing to develop so it’s best she stays put for the next 6 weeks!
GREAT NEWS! This baby girl is HEAD DOWN! My midwife confirmed it at my appointment last Tuesday and she showed me how to feel the head… so cool. I
