I’m thrilled that Ryan is currently in love with The Little Mermaid… because I loved it when I was a kid, but more so because now I get to sing those songs all over again 😉 Every time he watches, I start singing, and he tells me to stop, hahaha. So I’m super excited about the new 2-movie collection that was released on Blu-ray and DVD TODAY!!! November 19th! We were sent a copy to review.
This 2-movie set include The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginnings and The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea. So we all know that Ariel is a daughter of King Triton and has 6 other sisters, right? Well what happened before that?! Ariel’s Beginnings goes over a previous time when music was banned in their underwater kingdom–gasp! Then how will I sing along?! Ariel works with her sisters and her friends, Sebastian and Flounder, to bring music back to Atlantica.
Then we jump ahead to The Little Mermaid II: Ariel’s Return to the Sea. We know Ariel marries Prince Eric and we imagine they live happily ever after! Now we find out… they’ve had a daughter! Melody doesn’t believe that merpeople and Atlantica are just “old fish tales” and she dreams of being a part of that world… sound familiar?! This is a fun movie that joins all our favorite characters from land and sea.
In this pack you get 3 DVDs: one blu-ray disc and two DVD discs. They come with fun bonus features, too! Ariel’s Beginnings include deleted scenes, “Splashdance,” sing-a-long, Â music & more, behind the scenes, and a Mermaid Discovery Vanity Game! Return to the Sea includes a deleted song “Gonna Get My Wish,” an animated short “Merbabies,” and The Little Mermaid II Storybook.
You can find this 3-disc two-movie set at Walmart for $29.96. It was just released today, November 19th, just in time for the holidays! It will make a great gift or stocking stuffer!

How cute, we just got the blu-ray of the original and have a whole generation of viewers around here (aged 4 to 7) who have never been introduced to Ariel. So, we should get this movie too.
