A couple of weeks ago we had some friends over to play with our new PLAYSKOOL toys! We had a good variety for all ages, boys and girls, and were ready for lots of fun! I love the imaginative play of little ones and am always hunting for toys to inspire that. PLAYSKOOL products are specifically designed to enhance developmental skills through play.

Yea, some of us moms got in on the play, too 😉 We still want to “grow up” and be something awesome like a cowboy! We started our PLAYSKOOL Party by asking the kids what they wanted to be and wrote it on stickers they could wear.

My son took the crown and said he would be a superhero, Rebecca took the sea captain hat and said she’d be a pirate fairy when she grows up, Eddy is Mr. Cowboy, and I think Lily said she wanted to be a booger… or she was calling Eddy a booger…. hahaha.

Then we let loose with the toys!!! Next time I’ll remember to have them OPEN before the kids arrive because, man, that was a nerve-wracking few minutes while they all (im)patiently waited! Haha.

Everyone loved the PLAYSKOOL Transformers Mixable Mashable Heroes: Grimlock and Optimus Prime. And by “everyone,” I mean ages 2 to 32, haha. Us mom felt like kids again with Mr. Potato Head and the kids loved arranging them into different positions and looks. The Transformers toys are super hot right now!

The biggest hit, of course!, was Let’s Imagine Elmo. We spent the playdate making sure everyone shared and took turns with Elmo. He has 3 different hats and we had matching play ones for the kids so they had fun being just like Elmo: a prince, a cowboy, and a sea captain!

Depending on the hat you have Elmo wearing (they just snap on and off at the top of his head), he talks and sings accordingly. The cowboy counts, the prince is playful, the sea captain sings, and Elmo is usual giggly self we all know and love! Tickle his belly, squeeze his nose, bounce him, and play along!

Finally, we got to play with the Stack ‘n Spin Monkey Gears toy! It’s great for the younger ones, ages 9 months and up, but the 2-year-olds liked it and even my almost 5-year-old played with it.

This little toy really does a lot—hand-eye coordination, motor skills, creativity, and cause-and-effect! Watch all the gears spin, experiment with what pegs you put them on, and stack them up! There’s colorful lights and fun music, too.

What new PLAYSKOOL toy do you love the most? What do YOU want to be when you grow up?!

You can find all of these toys, including Let’s Imagine Elmo, on PLAYSKOOL’s website!
