Ryan is a snacker. He’s a skinny kid and he just doesn’t eat a lot during one meal. So we usually have a couple snack times throughout the day… between breakfast and lunch and again between lunch and dinner. And maybe even another before bed! Meals are pretty easy. But I like to find new, fun ideas for snack time.
Ryan LOVES to “dip!” So pairing a food with a dipping sauce is almost a sure way to get the kid to eat about anything. He immediately sees the sauce and says “dip! dip!” Speaking of–anyone have some great homemade dip recipes? Like a homemade ranch or something. Please share!
Sooo, Walmart has these new Tyson Mini Chicken Sandwiches that I thought would be fun for us to try. And right now, they have a special offer–if you buy any 2 boxes (plain or with cheese), you can get a $5 Walmart gift card by mail. Each box is about $5 so it’s basically like getting a box for free.
These sandwiches aren’t available in all Walmart stores, so use this store locator to check your location before you go!
We don’t typically buy or eat frozen meals, but once in awhile they’re easy to make–great for a quick snack. I heated some up while Ryan was napping so we’d have a nice snack ready when he woke up.
The sandwiches are wrapped 2 in a pouch. You put one pouch on a plate and microwave for ~50 seconds, flip the pouch over and heat it again for another ~50 seconds. Doesn’t get much quicker than that!
The two from the pouch are connected so I cut them in half and then I kept one for myself for my snack (I’m preggo, remember?! I eat ALL THE TIME lol) and cut the other one up in pieces for Ryan’s snack.
I was really skeptical because I’m a super picky eater, especially about frozen, processed meats. I knew Ryan would love it… and I knew my husband would be a fan… but I wasn’t sure if I would be.
Umm, I just ate that sandwich in about .6 seconds. It has a little bit of spice/kick to it and it was delicious. I could probably eat about 4 more right now, lol. And I think $5 for 8 of them is a pretty good deal so I’ll probably be buying these again for more quick snacks. Hey you could mix this with more sides, like some mashed potatoes, for a great dinner, too!
